MIL-THERM145MC – Shielded Sheathed Wire

Field of application
Deployed predominantly in those areas where very high reliability, stability under extreme environmental conditions, as well as mechanical robustness and EMC protection are required. It is also designed for use in outdoor control and switching systems outdoors and in transportation technology (cars, commercial vehicles, ships, aeroplanes). Outstanding features of this wiring are its low smoke emission and toxicity in the event of fire, which gains valuable time for aid measures.

Structure
Conductor made of tin-plated copper wires complying with DIN VDE 0295 class 5 (IEC 228, class 5). Insulation made of halogen-free, electron-beam cross-linked polyolefine copolymer with increased temperature stability and enhanced behaviour in case of fire. The outstanding feature of these cores are the excellent workability. The core insulation does not draw back during soldering. An optimised shield braiding made of tin-plated copper is located underneath the external jacket.
